Sunlit Fine Jewelry

Susan Hamilton Meier handcrafts each jewel in her New York City studio, drawing on a lifelong fascination with ancient adornment that began with the golden treasures of Egypt. She studied art history and studio art at Dartmouth College and later traveled through Mexico, influenced by the work of Anni Albers and pre-Columbian cultures. After starting her career at Sotheby’s Jewelry, she refined her practice through graduate study at the School of Visual Arts and decades of training with master jeweler Fred de Vos. Working primarily in wax and using the ancient lost-wax casting method, she creates richly textured pieces that channel the warmth and radiance of sunlight.
