Born in Manhattan, New York City, Robert Sorrell‘s first memory of interest in jewelry was awakened inside of his mother's velvet lined red leatherette jewelry case. The interest was accentuated by Hollywood classic films when they were just being released to network television. His first experiments with stringing beads and false pearls led to getting advice from more experienced jewelry makers, which eventually lead him to develop  a client base ranging from Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to RuPaul‘s drag Race Stars, with an important collaboration spent with Paris couturier Thierry  Mugler in between. Many Sorrell Originals now reside in major collections around the world and hopefully the best are yet to come.
