Handcrafted from luminous Bird’s Eye maple, these cutting boards carry forward the legacy of master woodworker Ed Wohl, now thoughtfully continued by his son Jonathan Wohl. Made in the driftless hills of Southwest Wisconsin, each board reflects decades of dedication to material, form, and function. The studio’s deep respect for the land extends beyond the workshop, with a portion of sales supporting global tree-planting efforts. It is everyday craftsmanship grounded in sustainability, heritage, and care.  

Care: 

Hand wash with mild soap and warm water, then towel dry. Let both sides dry evenly and never leave it on a wet surface or near heat. Smooth rough spots with a Scotch-Brite pad or fine sandpaper. Oil regularly with mineral oil or cutting board oil, let soak, and wipe off excess. Never put in the dishwasher or leave metal on a wet board. This board is made from hard maple, valued for its strength and beauty. Bird’s-eye maple is rare and naturally varied, making each board one of a kind.
