The Museum of Arts and Design's Visionaries!  2012 Scent Gala

Please save the date of Tuesday, November 27, 2012 and plan to join us for our annual Visionaries! Gala in celebration of MAD's exhibition The Art of Scent. Perfume will be at the center and theme of this year's Visionaries! which will feature parallel dining experiences, one olfactory and invisible, the other gustatory and edible. 

MAD is thrilled to be recognizing as Visionaries! two remarkable women who have so profoundly influenced the medium of scent that they have, each in her way, transformed the state of the art in both aesthetics and design, the exhibition of which is of course MAD's mission.  We are thrilled to honor Karyn Khoury, Estee Lauder's Senior Vice President, who is one of the world's most important patrons of the art of scent and one of its most influential and indelible creative directors.  We recognize Sophia Grojsman of International Flavors and Fragrances, who has produced a singularly significant body of artwork, as among the greatest olfactory artist of the past hundred years.

Held this year at the Mandarin Oriental, New York City, Visionaries! begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by an awards ceremony and scent dinner lead by Chandler Burr.

The Visionaries! Gala is the Museum's most important annual fundraiser supporting MAD's exhibitions and educational programs.

A silent auction will highlight artist-made perfume bottles.  You will also have the opportunity to bid on the finest luxury goods, design items, travel getaways, and dining packages.

Each year, more than 500 guests, including arts patrons, artists, designers and noted corporate and civic leaders, attend the event.
