The Store at MAD and The Store Online are dedicated to supporting the mission of the museum and extending the museum visitor’s experience. In today’s competitive retail world, only superb customer service and a staff that is intimately familiar with their store’s product will serve to achieve these goals.


All proceeds from sales made in The Store Online and in The Store at MAD support the exhibitions and educational programs of the Museum of Arts and Design.  We deeply appreciate your patronage and are here to serve you.


Members Discount: Members of the Museum of Arts and Design receive a 10% discount on purchases made online, over the phone, and in The Store at MAD at 2 Columbus Circle in New York. During the year, on special occasions our members are able to receive a 20% discount. When you join online or by telephone, you are immediately eligible to receive your membership discount on your purchases, other than the membership itself. There are no membership discounts on LOOT: MAD About Jewelry purchases.



Orders shipped within the contiguous United States are shipped via UPS Ground.  Membership cards will be shipped free of charge using USPS. 

Orders sent to Alaska and Hawaii are shipped UPS 2nd day air or USPS Priority Mail. Please use a street address only for your “Ship To” address.  We cannot ship to post office boxes.  


Tax on Orders Shipped from The Store Online: 

Applicable sales tax will be added to all purchases being shipped to any New York address. There is no sales tax on Memberships, Donations, Event Tickets, or Gift Certificates no matter where you live.


International Orders:

The Store Online can fulfill Canadian orders only. Your order may be subject to duties or tariffs. These will be collected by the destination country’s customs office.

In the case that your items arrive damaged, or there is a mistake with your order, please contact us immediately at 212.299.7769 or email us at . 

If you are unhappy with your purchase or gift, you may return it to us within 14 days, undamaged, for full refund in the original form of payment. Shipping cost is excluded. After 14 days a store credit will be issued. Returns made without a gift receipt or packing list will be issued a store credit at 20% less than the current retail price. All sales are final after 30 days. All sale items are final sale and non-returnable.

To help us process your return quickly and insure you receive proper credit, please include a copy of your packing list or gift receipt in your package.  


Please send your returns by UPS or insured Parcel Post.  Lost shipments are the responsibility of the sender.
