The Store at MAD and The Store Online are dedicated to supporting the mission of the museum and extending the museum visitor’s experience. In today’s competitive retail world, only superb customer service and a staff that is intimately familiar with their store’s product will serve to achieve these goals.


All proceeds from sales made in The Store Online and in The Store at MAD support the exhibitions and educational programs of the Museum of Arts and Design.  We deeply appreciate your patronage and are here to serve you.

 

Members Discount 

Members of the Museum of Arts and Design receive a 10% discount on purchases made online, over the phone, and in The Store at MAD at 2 Columbus Circle in New York. During the year, on special occasions our members are able to receive a 20% discount. When you join online or by telephone, you are immediately eligible to receive your membership discount on your purchases, other than the membership itself. There are no membership discounts on LOOT: MAD About Jewelry purchases.

 

Shipping Rates and Information

All orders are shipped UPS Ground unless an expedited shipping method is chosen. 

Orders sent to Alaska and Hawaii are shipped UPS 2nd day air or USPS Priority Mail.

 

Please note that we cannot ship to P. O. boxes or APO/FPO.

Orders are processed Monday – Friday between 9:30AM – 4:00pm EST.

Please allow 7–10 business days for ground delivery. We will contact you in the event of a delay. 

Shipping and handling rates are based on the merchandise total before taxes.

Alaska, Hawaii and Canada add $20 to the standard rates.  This amount will be added to your order after processing and will not appear in your cart at checkout.

 

Express Delivery

Expedited Service (2-3 Business Days)**:  Add $20.00 to the standard rates.

Overnight Service (1 Business Day)**:  Add $30.00 to the standard rates.

Expedited and Overnight orders must be received by 11 am EST.

Add 1 additional business day to orders received after 11am EST.

 

**Please note: Express delivery is only available to orders shipped within the contiguous United States.

 

Tax on Orders Shipped from The Store Online 

Applicable sales tax will be added to all purchases being shipped to any New York address.

 

Oversized Items

Additional shipping and handling charges are required for oversized items where it is noted in the product description. Please note that these items are not available for expedited delivery.

 

International Orders

Most products can be shipped to international addresses, though some oversized items cannot be shipped to an international address. 


Since shipping rates vary based on country and weight of package please contact thestoreonline@madmuseum.org or Anthony Chen at 212.299.7769 to receive a shipping quote. We will e-mail your specific shipping costs within 3 business days of receiving your order. Please reply to the e-mail that you accept these fees. We will not process and ship your order until you accept the fees. If we do not hear from you after 3 e-mail attempts, your order will be canceled. When we receive your acceptance e-mail, we will ship your package the following business day and update your order total for billing.


International and Canadian order recipients are responsible for any customs, duties, taxes or special fees applied upon delivery by the destination country’s local government. If you purchase an International gift order, you will be responsible for all customs, duties, and taxes in advance.


If an international order recipient refuses to pay these fees upon the package’s arrival to their country and the package is returned to the museum, the original shipping charges will not be refunded and return shipping costs will be charged back to the purchaser’s original method of payment.


The museum is not responsible for these fees and does not include them in the original shipping quote, nor does the museum pay them once they are incurred.

 
Please note, international orders are shipped via a traceable international carrier. Once it is shipped, it takes approximately 5-10 business days for the package to arrive at your door. 

 

 

Returns

In the case that your items arrive damaged, or there is a mistake with your order, please keep all the original packaging and contact us immediately at 212.299.7769 or email us at thestoreonline@madmuseum.org.

 

You may return your purchase to us within 14 days, undamaged, in its original packing for full refund in the original form of payment.

Please include a copy of your receipt with the return shipment.

 

All sales are final after 30 days.

All sale items are final sale and non-returnable.

Shipping and gift-wrapping fees are non-refundable.

To help us process your return quickly and insure you receive proper credit, please include a copy of your packing list or gift receipt in your package, along with a phone number and preferred time to contact you should we have the need.

Please send your returns by UPS or insured Parcel Post or a traceable international carrier. Lost shipments are the responsibility of the sender.

Store Credits

At the present time, we are unable to process purchases online using a store credit.
